Will Schpero’s Paper on Racial and Ethnic Differences in Low-Value Care

Will Schpero, ISPS Graduate Policy Fellow,  is the lead author on a recently published paper in Health Affairs.  ”For Selected Services, Blacks And Hispanics More Likely To Receive Low-Value Care Than Whites,”  uses Medicare administrative data from 2006–11 to look at differences in patients’ receipt of effective care across races and ethnicities across the United States.

Other authors on the paper were Nancy E. Morden, Thomas D. Sequist, Meredith B. Rosenthal, Daniel J. Gottlieb and Carrie H. Colla.
